How to Order Flowers Online From FTD

As a floral diva and former flower-shop owner, I feel the pain people experience when they take special care in ordering a beautiful bouquet of flowers, only to find out the flowers delivered were completely different from what they ordered, or even worse, the recipient received day-old flowers the florist had left-over in his cooler.

Tips to Ordering Flowers Online

With so many florists online, how do you pick the one that will deliver the fresh flowers you want? Will they deliver the flowers on time? Which florist can you trust to deliver the quality of service you want?

There are online florists who've made a science of delivering customer service as well as flowers. One of those quality sites, ftd.com, has been delivering flowers and gifts for over 100 years. They recently celebrated their centurion birthday on August 18, 2010. Navigating through their website is a breeze.

Streamlining the Flower Ordering Process

A quick tour reveals ftd's simple index: Birthday, Get Well, Roses, Flowers, Plants and Gifts under $35.00 and Monthly Sales. When I see a site cluttered with too many choices, I'm easily overwhelmed. I might be a floral diva, but if you give me too many selections I'm like a mosquito in a nudist camp who has so many choices, he doesn't know where to start. Ftd.com has less than 10 pictured bouquets on their uncluttered home page. For more items, you simply click the "More" button on each end of each row of bouquets.

Customers ordering flowers online want to speak to a "helpful" human being if they have problems ordering, or specific questions about fresh flowers. FTD's toll free number 1-800-SEND-FTD (1-800-736-3383), listed on their Customer Service page, allows customers to call with questions or even order their selections with a trained rep.

The process of ordering online through ftd.com is simple. Enter your personal information to register an account and click the item you want. You'll be taken to a page that has your bouquet customized in different sizes to fit every budget. Click on the item that fits your budget and it goes into your shopping cart. The next information to fill out includes the recipient's information and what message you want to include on the enclosure card.

It's All in the Flower Delivery

To make sending flowers easier, have the entire address including zip code of the delivery address along with the recipient's telephone number. While some people don't like to ruin the "surprise" of sending flowers, oftentimes delivery drivers find themselves trying to deliver in a gated neighborhood or a house with a locked gate along with a barking Doberman preventing entry. If the situation arises, the driver needs to be able to contact the recipient so successful delivery can be made.

Sending flowers to someone is a special occasion in itself. Not only are your flowers representing the celebration or special sentiment you're sharing with someone in your life, they symbolize the thought and care you feel for that individual. Following the outlined tips helps ensure you not only choose the right floral bouquet, but that they get delivered on time.
